I still searched for a 6th gear with the 18t as much as do now with the 17t. I changed the stock 16t for the 18t after the first 7k miles, but I never "disliked" it, just thought lower rpms made more sense since I'm on the highway 90% of the time, but funny thing is, I never realized any difference in gas mileage from one to the other.

I'll need a new chain again soon, and I'm going to change the sprockets too this time. I'll go back with the 16t front for a while. I can always change it later if I want.

The 17t I have now has been on for a good 40k, and it has been a lot of fun.

I do think the 19t would be a bit too tall, especially 2-up, but that's just my opinion.

I will say that I did like running the 18t in the lower gears. Seemed like I could run 1st and 2nd gear a lot more at speeds less than 50 mph.....but it had less on the top end in 5th.

With the 17t, I'm not going to ever run anywhere near rev limit in 5th gear. EVER.
