I still say it's not a bad idea to just get rid of the chain guard. I think it really cleans up that area... Now, as for your thoughts Dwight, of not wanting to draw attention to that part of the bike, well I can understand your thinking. I (we)'ve all seen some pretty ugly accumulation of gunk and dirt back there, enough to constitute an eyesore. And yet I went the opposite by exposing the chain to it's fullest then adding colour to that otherwise drab and dreary part of the bike.

With today's lubricants there need not be any fling and keeping the chain clean is no big deal. So, getting back to the chain guard... yeah I agree DEFINITELY DON'T modify it but consider yanking it and calling it a day!!
