BTW, some folks who are old enough(like me) might remember the difference between the Lucas taillamp design for the 1968, and the 1969 model year and later Triumphs, and indeed all the britbikes still in manufacture and imported into the U.S. by that date, with the '68s being the last bikes to have the old "classic" taillamp assembly, sans the arrow-shaped side reflectors which first appeared on the '69s and later U.S. models.
And THEN, later on in the '70s, those Lucas taillamps got REALLY large and REALLY squared-off, and with large rectangular side reflectors...and REALLY ugly, compared to the older Lucas designs!(well, in my opinion anyway)
