Mine eventually got a little raspy in the high end, but the baffles were pretty worn. That was after 4 years and 17,000 miles. I put new baffle material in and they sounded like new again - actually ran better possibly due to a little more backpressure. I think from now on, I'll just repack them with new material every two years. Material is cheap and it's easy to do.
