Good ol' Pinky's looking good considering his (my) age! Brings back good memories, and in fact my band does a couple o' PF numbers. The music is timeless! Cid and I don't cross paths anymore either Gordie... I've seen what I had to see.
Live to love, love to live.

A buddy and I caught his "Dark Side of the Moon" show at MSG, it was fantastic. We definitely won't miss this one. I never had an opportunity to see the first Wall show (or any for that matter). It's not my favorite Floyd album, but the show should be a spectacle and Waters seems to suround himself with some pretty competent musicians (better than Mason/Wright were in the day...)

Brings back the memories. I saw Roger Waters play with Eric Clapton back in the early eighties, he did a lot of Floyd stuff and some solo stuff. Would have loved to have seen the original Pink Floyd, as I always thought Waters needed Gilmore, Mason and Wright to pull the best out of him. I guess Rogers and Gilmore are still somewhat estranged, but I heard they did do a show together a few years back.

Waters & Gilmour are still not friends, but the blame is now on Gilmour. Nick Mason played drums for all of the Dark Side show in NYC, they've apparently mended the fences. I heard a quote from Gilmour when asked about playing again with Waters. He replied something to the extent of "yes, I've heard what he's done recently and there's nothing compelling that I'w want to play on with Roger". As they said a few decades back: "Money, it's a crime Share it fairly But don't take a slice of my pie" Quote:

Man, I would pretty much do anything to see pink floyd live(especially back in their day) as they are without a doubt my favorite band.

Playing in Buffalo the day after my 50th Bday. I always regretted not seeing Floyd in the day. I am thinking this is an opportunity not to be passed on.

Ahhh, a Floyd fan! Oh yeah... and ya know, their songs can be pretty hard to cover don't ya think Chris? A couple years back I saw a PF tribute band that was AMAZING! I pictured myself sounding that good doing Floyd tunes... that's when the little 'idea light' shattered above my head.
Live to love, love to live.

Pop some of your stuff up here, I love Floyd covers. Saw "The Pink Floyd Experience" a few weeks ago in PA. Pretty good, but the best imo is "The Machine". They just launched a tour, catch them if you like Pink Floyd, they never disappoint. (full length version of Echo's, etc.) http://www.reverbnation.com/themachineliveQuote:

Ya, Keith. We have this band called El Monstero that comes through here every christmas and they sound EX-ACT-LY like Pink Floyd to the very last note. I've seen them 5 or 7 times and can never get enough. I'm sure you've heard the Australian Pink Floyd, Keith?...they're not bad either, eh? I play a few of their tunes and just d a y d r e a m about the idea of playing with a group like Floyd...

Yup Chris, I've heard Australian Pink Floyd and oh yeah, they are amazing. All I've ever covered is Comfortably Numb and Wish You Were Here. And now, with today's home studio capabilities I'm able to can tracks and get a good sound that way, but as you say... to actually play in a band like that...WOW!!!!
I play piano on Comfortably Numb with our band. It's different, but good I think.
Live to love, love to live.
