Just saw an ad on facebook for double front Carhartt pants which were voted as best motorcycle pants. Now I'm wondering what ever happened to Dragon skin pants. I just remember that the pants looked like blue jeans, but protected a rider even sliding on the road being toed by a truck. Anyone else remember those ads? Carhartt double front motorcycle pants

Ah! just found it! Draggin Jeans Anyone have a pair and can give a real life review? I'm kind of looking for good riding pants that give protection without making me look like an overstuffed pastry on wheels.

Laurie, I have had a pair of Draggin jeans for two years now. I love them. they look good & are fairly comfortable. With the kevlar in them they are a little heavier than regular jeans. I don't think you can go wrong.
Young enough to care-less & old enough to know-better. Sooo how do you like me now!!! Whaaaat!!

I have two pair, one black, a little warmer and goo for cool weather, and one blue jeans a little warmer then reg jeans. No real world experiance to know if the protection will work but I feel better wearing them. I use a full face helmet too. I like them, dragon jeans.

I have a pair that got "road tested" a few years back. Tore off a rear pocket and some denim, but the Kevlar protected my delicate skin. Not a bit of rash. I bought another pair to replace and have worn them out, need some new ones. There are other brands that aren't quite as spendy as the Draggin' Jeans and look to have comparable coverage. They just use the generic aramid fiber instead of the name brand Kevlar.

I have worn the Carhart double front jeans for work and the commute to and from. They do block the wind better than regular jeans for the simple fact that you are wearing an extra 1/2 pair of jeans on the front. For cold weather riding Carhart sells jeans with an insulated liner. I haven't tried these but if you wore them and got caught in rain I think they would end up weighing a ton. I haven't tried "draggin jeans" but I would like a pair. Keep in mind that the Carharts don't have kevlar or anything so they are the same as wearing regular jeans on the backside. I found that the ones I wore to work seemed to wear out at the top rivets that hold the 2nd layer to the jeans. Then you end up with a "walnut vent" in the front of your jeans...lol NR

The Carharts jeans have metal rivets in front and on side of thigh..always scared they would mar my tank..so I go with Draggin jeans and they are warmer than normal jeans and wear well..spendy but better protection than most!
life is good..I am retired..sold my America in 2008,bought a Rocket and sold that in 3/2013 and now own a new Triumph Bonneville T-100

I had some of those Carhartts when I first started riding. Dang they were pretty hot in the summer sun. Blocking the wind also means non-breathing.

Well, they're actually armored. Back then the Carhartts came in extended sizes but I haven't seen that in a long time. Draggin Jeans might've fit me in high school.

i use a generic draggin jean lined with kevlar and got to say they are great, i too have a slight problem size wise but i managed to get some from ebay, only fault for me is the wider bottom than i would of liked, if i bought the draggin jean brand i would have no chance of getting a fit

Here's a review of a competitive brand: Sliders armored jeans I'm still looking toward a pair of the spendier Diamond Gussett Defenders but only because they'll cull jeans and match the waist of your favorite jeans if you send them the measurements. And maybe because they're made next door in Georgia, too.

I've got a pair of Red Route jeans in black. They've got Kevlar on the bum, knees and outer thigh, but look just like normal jeans. At ĆĀ£70 they are the most expensive jeans I've ever bought, but I'm gonna get another pair for wash and wear

I like the Cortech Tourmaster jeans that have light leather in the seat and knees. They look great and are quite comfortable.

Or you could get the Bohn Armor Pants from the banner ads on this site. Wear any pants you like and still be protected.

Right HERE. I've been considering some for myself. They also have some cargo type on closeout, good deals to be had.

You could also click on those links in the banner ads to help Robert pay for this site (I'm pretty sure it's a pay-per-click revenue model). You don't have to buy anything, just click occasionally.

Love my Draggin' Jeans. They're a little warm on hot days, but less so than overpants or such.

I gotta go with Big Bill here: Skin grafting is such a long and painful process. Many years ago in a place far away a large group of Hells Angels wannabees came up over a steep metal bridge and found the roadway in front of them completely blocked by a multi vehicle accident across 4 lanes of asphalt.
They all looked so cool and tough with their leather vests and chromed German Coal Scuttle helmets and jeans. However the bare arms (to better show off their wannabee tats) and skimpy helmets and plain jeans did little to comfort them on their long skid on a rough asphalt roadway.
We had over 65 riders down at one time piled into a multi vehicle accident on Cross Bay Blvd in Queens NYC. The roadway was closed for over 7 hours as the Accident Investigation Teams did their work as we also had 4 fatalties amongst the wannabe bikers.
If you wanna look cool then be prepared to suffer the consequences if you skimp on protective gear.
I live and ride in Vegas. It gets really hot here. A cool vest (holds 3 quarts of water) under a mesh armored jacket, full helmet with face shield, kevlar riding jeans, gloves and decent footwear goes a long way to keep you cool and safe.
07 Speedmstr, Long Tors, bags, sissy bar and rack, windshield, engine bars, 2 ww lights, 2 fast eddy stickers and a .45 ACP.
