just asking, but did you refit the two rubber bungs on the rear right hanger?

No, but there are is two rubber donuts on each side, about the diameter of a quarter and a half-inch or so thick. They "fill the gap" so to speak. Item number 12, below:

I'm so sorry to thread jack here, but I've gotta post this. I've got a Schwinn Lemon Peeler Stingray. I rode it all the time when I was a kid. It had all the fenders, springer front, and a 5 speed stick. Exactly like this one in the picture. Lets just say I need to drag it out, and get it restored. It's rusted out.

Thanks Friar. I did put those back on. The pipes are tight on the bracket. It is the peg hanger bracket that is moving.
