I rattled my brain the other day about how I could break down the wall without taking the box out. If I can't think of something, I just might have to leave it for the end of the season. I did however enlarge the opening of the cover by 1/8" all the way around. The UNI filter opening itself is larger than the cover opening so I used a router to carve away the rim all the way around and still have a good seal for the filter. I am not sure if it did anything but every bit counts I guess.
