Hey guys n gals Very last minute this but the weather looks OK (so read dry!  ) over the next few days, does anyone fancy a meet at the Ace cafe over the weekend? A cuppa and a bacon butty sound tempting? I'll even shout the cuppas!  Let me know if'n you're interested - I'm going without ya anyway!

My personal preference:
Well done bacon on white with tomato ketchup.
Many would prefer brown sauce ( Daddies being the .. er .. daddy I suppose!).
Since moving a little way north, they call it a 'bacon buttie splash'.
The 'splash' being heated tinned tomato.
Bear in mind our bacon is usually thicker than generally served in the US.
Easily twice as thick!
As it's Friday tomorrow (well, in about 1 minute to be accurate ), I shall go to a friend's office to finish off some work and I'll collect breakfast on the way.
My choice shall be well done bacon, sausage and egg splash on a cob!
(Translate: well done bacon (!), sausage (!!), fried egg (sunnyside up), tomatoes on a bread roll (approx 2" diameter and 7" long).
Now thanks!! You've got me all hungry just before I go to bed - thanks a bunch!! 
(And there's Grzegorz saying he doesn't like English food  !!)

What I wouldn't give for a bacon buttie,  but unfortunatly I have to work this weekend.  Usually need about a months notice to get a specific weekend off. So if you are thinking of doing another run sometime, let me know. Have a good run. Paul

Working Sunday now to pay for the gas bill that arrived yesterday...and Saturday was always gonna be a no.

The last house me and the wife had together, she had a coal fire burning AND the central heating on.
Yes I was sitting there in shorts and a t-shirt. The cats loved it.
Sorry for the short notice but it just popped into my head tonight.
I fancied a decent ride out this weekend after seeing that it's supposed to be clear weather.
As I haven't been to the Ace for a few weeks, I decided to go there!
There will hopefully be loads of summer for another trip or two.
Sundays are best because traffic in London village is a bit quieter.

If I'm cold I put an extra layer of clothing on, or pull the blanket of the back of the setee. It's my housemate...
However I've tended to have the computer on all day recently and he's paying for half of the electricity bill... and for the electric blanket I've had on recently trying to sweat this cold out!
It's just we have a wierd arrangement for paying the bills. I pay now he'll pay his half and the next three months rent at the start of April. He's a funded student and only gets paid every 3 months and so I ask him for the rent in 3 month lump sums. That way I'm not asking him to cough up when he's got no money left and he can budget with what he has left.
Never been to the Ace. London doesn't hold much fascination for me as I go there every day with work. But an excuse for a ride out...I could be tempted to head that way...and Sundays are easy for me to get off. Just need to know by Tuesday.

I didn't put my central heating on until late November!

BTW... in the U.S. if you get bacon at the butcher you can usually get the nice thick stuff. Which definitley is much better than the thin stuff in the store.

News from Martyn who is darn sarf, weather is looking worse than shite!!
May have to reconsider.
250 miles round trip for a cuppa and a butty seems a bit much.
I might stay local and enjoy dry (if cold) sunny weather instead - next time eh?

Always fancied a run to Ace, but if it is around trip of 250 for you I can stick a few more on that. Just got the bike back today and all the new chrome bits put on. Petty they could not find out why it would not start or backfiring when riding... Weather is supposed to be -1 here tonight and rain, rain tomorrow. So I think I will take a rain check on that one Ade... Bacon Butty though is tempting I must admit

One of my favs issa peanut buttah/banana sammich. Drop two whole wheat slices of bread in the toaster, grab 'em when they pop out, slather one side with creamy peanut butter, other side with mayo, peel banana, slice it up nicely, and slam 'em together. Masticate and swallow. A tall glass of moo juice to finish it all of with.

1 bun , 2 slices ayrshire bacon (not cremated) , 1 slice blackpudding,1 overeasy fried egg , 1 tattie scone and a good splash o hp mmmmmmmmmm and this also cures hangovers (on saturday morns on the way to work )or it used to . just so you guys know YOUR MAKIN ME HOME SICK

I'm off next week and other than putting a shed up in my back garden I have no plans.

Not a bad idea.
However ..... I've been there for these 'Triumph nights' before and unless it's in the middle of summer, you might be there on your own!!
I went once (when I lived in Bromsgrove) on a wet November night with near horizontal rain there and back and apart from the guy who owns the place, I was the only other Triumph there 
A long way for a cuppa and a bacon butty I tell ya, even further for you!
I'd rather stay at home and do the shed if I were you
