I can't seem to find it either...I see that Amazon has many of the Koso speedos and the one that works with Harley sensor is there. I think the one that I used was not one for a universal pickup. My main reason for having a speedo was for odometer (to estimate fuel levels). This setup works, but I was never able to get an accurate speed from the unit....funny thing is that odometer still appears to be working great. One of these days, I will dig into it deeper. To domover, I would probably look fro a speedo that is similar size, but not Koso. In one of my posts I talked about there very limited ability to support me during the install.

Does anyone have a solution for a fuel gauge. I have an Acewell but feel it wasted on the Trumpy as it has a fuel gauge but can't be hooked up.

Thoughts???

I really like the look of the Koso. What is the model number, and where is the best place to purchase? Do the sensor and magnets come with the speedo? If not, what are the part numbers and where is the best place to purchase these? Thanks for the help and the idea.

Is there any functional difference between this model and the HD model BB551B40? Is the HD model adjustable for tire size to make it work for a different bike?

Answer 2:

Yes there is. The BB641B34 does have some indicator light while the BB551B40 do not have any. No the HD model only pick up the speed on the transmission. For this reason the BB551B40 can’t be adapt to other motorcycle. On the other side, the BB641B34 pick up the speed on the wheel and can be adapt to any motorcycle or tire size.

This might help with why the speed has not been reading accuratly on some of the Koso speedometers.

I ended up ordering the Acewell 2853 with Ace-S4 cable drive adapter to read using the stock speedometer cable. I like the look of the Koso, but it sounds like there have been less issues with the Acewell and I like the idea of still having a tach. I ordered the acewell from:

All right, I suprisingly recieved the Acewell Speedometer from my one year old daughter for Christmas. Man is she a good shopper! For those who have done this, does the speedometer come apart? More specifically, does the front outside ring come off? I was hoping to take it apart and use that ring to hold it in the dash, but it doesn't seem to want to come apart.

Would one of you who has installed the acewell be kind enough to pull your console and take a picture of the wiring? I would really appreciate it.

OK, everything is wired and works. Here is how the wiring goes:

Acewell - Triumph
Turn Signals(Orange & White) - Turn Signal Light (Green/Red)
High beam (Light Green) - High beam Light (Blue/white)
Nuetral (Purple) - Nuetral (Black/White)
Engine/Oil (Grey) - Engine/oil (White/Brown)
Ground (Black) - Ground (Brown)
Clock Power (Brown) - Key off power (Purple)
Switch Key (Red) - Key on power (Red/blue)
Tach (Yellow) - Tach (Red)
I hope this helps those who want to do this in the future.

I am in the process of putting a Digital Dakota Speedo/Tacho combo gauge HLY-3016 on my Speedmaster right now. DD gives you the option of running with your stock speedo cable or a sensor. the senor is what I'm going with so that I can eliminate the cable off the forks.
The DD gauge is 3 3/8 round. So I needed to change the face of my console. This of course required some fabrication on my part, which is not that hard.
