Grapeman: For your 2006 Speedmaster to still have 'stiction' does not make me feel good at all. I've started 'googling' around the net and I can't say I have a good feeling around this issue going away.
From what I've read, fork oil, and/or seals could be the issue. Failing that, it's the forks themselves. In your case, I'd go with the new seals, and new fluid. Hopefully that will fix it.
