Back from a bit of a mini-holiday
Yes, "fork seal stiction" is EXACTLY what I was told. I haven't ridden the bike much lately due to bad weather and being away. I have 820 km (500 miles) on the bike now.
It is definitely smoother now, but I still have a way to go. Below 80 km/h (50 mph) is now smooth. Starting at 80 km/h I can feel the vibration/bumps. At 90 km/hr (55 mph) its REALLY rough. It smooths out a bit at a 100 km/h (62 mph). It's still rough at 120 km/h (75 mph).
When I went for my 800 km service, I mentioned it again for the record. I also mentioned that I am NOT enjoying my bike. Kind of takes away the 'happy factor'

Anyway, I told them I will try and work it through, but I do expect this to be gone soon. Nobody will tell me how long as each bike is different.
Is your bike a 2010? My dealer has an identical bike to mine (right down to the colour) with the same issue, but not as severe.
I was offered a test ride of my machine before buying it. I declined the test ride as I have my wife's '07, and I wasn't expecting anything different. In hindsight, if I had test rode it, I probably woulnd't have bought this machine. I don't know how Triumph expects to sell machines with this issue.
