I agree, there was no mystery involved in fitting mine on my 05 Speedy either. There has to be something else wrong here. It either fits straight on nice and simple or Corbin have stuffed up somewhere. Don't be bluffed by any sales persons either.

The tank on the EFI models is a different shape, and the seat fits snug with the tank. On my wife's '07 the stock seat is actually not touching the tank. Corbin's seat is the same for all years, but does require some care when installing on EFI bikes. I have paint protection film on my tank that the seat will press up against so the finish won't get marred.
