There is a wealth of information & answers stashed in the forum "tech vault". Did the previous owner provide the basic owner's manual? If not, I had a 2002 America. I'll look around tomorrow if my old manual is hiding in the garage somewhere. The 02's and 03's were basically the same bike.
I had k/n air filter pods on the carburator and also drilled holes in the left side plastic cover to match up with the faux "cheese grater". Did it run better? Who knows, but it made it easy to visually check that the hose clamp filter hadn't slipped from the carb intake
