An auction in Belgium of these bikes and some Triumphs as well.    I wonder how they could have been stored away for so long.

Ya know, I'm wonderin' here what that still crated Commando Interstate pictured above will fetch on auction, and how the winning bid will compare with one of the new 961 Nortons which are about to hit the showrooms at approximately $20K a pop?!
(my guess is the crated older one will come very close to that figure)

There is an old Triumph dealer around my neck of the woods that used to have a handful of brand new Triumphs still in the crate sitting in his shop. I was always amazed going there seeing them. He did eventually sell them but it was many years after the model years of bikes he had. As I remember they were early 1980's and I remember seeing a Silver Jubilee Edition too. He no longer sells Triumphs though, when they quit exporting them he just did service work for a while then started selling Moto-Guzzi's and Polaris. Nice guy to deal with too. What I wouldn't give to come across a find like that!!

The last similar bike a crated export for USA model Norton sold for £9000 in the UK.
