BTW, Dinqua just added the drilled airbox thingy. Now mine says 138, old calc, 137.5, new calc. Our resident Merlin strikes again.

I spoke to a mechanic today and told him I changed main jets and needles and used a certain calculator at the internet to help. He said like "what?" and I added that theres this really pro guy in the US that made the calculator to help people rejet.
He replied "but they use totally different fuel in the US". This got me confused, since I really don't see the difference. Sure we have higher octane (I think) 95 and 98. I normally use 98.
Maybe a totally stupid question, but tell my kind of stupid person, does fuel make that big of a difference and should I rejet cause of this conversation? I really don't think so.

Pat's calculator yields results that should serve as a starting point when you jet due to a throughput change. After installing the recommend jets, you may have to alter the recommended jets. Plug chops, seat of the pants and even a dyno run will fine tune the selections. Check for the best main first. Then the best midrange setup (jet needles/shims, etc) then the pilot circuit. Sure fuel makes a difference, but not to the point where using the first iteration of Pat's recommended jetting would be a concern. Operative words: Starting point.

Noticed on the stock pipes there is only option for 1, 2, and All baffles removed. There are 4 in the pipes I just cleaned out, so I guess it depends on the year of the stockers?

In the snorkel status box, "top removed" would mean no snorkel and a bellmouth (or not). "All removed" means no airbox at all. Is this correct?

I'm getting conflicting advice on the size mains i need...If someone could help me I'd greatly appreciate it. Just wanna make sure I'm using this calculator right...I have a 05 Speedmaster, airbox removed, K&N pods, D&D pipes, approx 1,000 above sea (kansas city). I've been told I need 150 or smaller, 160, and I'm getting 154.5 when I use this calculator. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The only mods before my airbox removal was the D&D pipes and dealer rejetted so I'm assuming pilots and needles are stock...

Hey Bart... I did that for you and came up with 129 (ish) mains. That's with no mods to the airbox, stock needles with no shims, 42 pilots and an elevation of 1000-2000ft.

I've never been able to get the new calculator to work, it gives me an "unexpected error" message. The old one seems to work ok though.

Try Friars Web Version of Jetting calculator. As far as I know this works across platforms too. I tried it in Ubuntu Linux and it also worked fine.

Thanks a million Pat ,you just saved me a lot of hassle. I removed the snorkel yesterday, installed the Norman Hyde high intake bellmouth re-jetted according to Pat's calculator. Took the bike to the nearest dyno centre (110 miles away) dyno run shows the bike to be nearly spot on. (a tad rich at full throttle)

Cannot get either of the calculators to run using my computer XP version. I have the jets required for my mod but the friend who is doing it wanted to see the chart. I'll send a link to this thread to him see if he can open it.

Guys what pipes would be equivalent to the Emgo turn-outs or Emgo cocktail shakers for calculator input?
The turn-outs have a small non removable baffle and the cocktails have a removable baffle with a fibreglass packing wrap.
I am thinking of changing pipes from Short TORS on my 07 Speedmaster and need to check new jetting size.

I am not a expert but I think it would be Epco or JC Whitney for the turn outs. I don't know for the cocktails.

of course JC Whitney supply Emgo. I will go with that.
Looks like I need to upgrade from my 125 main to a 130 (suggests a 131.5) however I might have to put in a needle shim which brings the main recommendation back down to 129.5
That being with JC pipes, stock pilots, uni single filter, top of snorkle removed @ sea-level.

Well I'll be durn. I had Pat's old calculator but just now gave this one a test. My setup is Thunderbike's, stock needles, 1 shim, drilled slide, K&N duals, 42 pilots. Low and behold the main jet calculated to exactly what I have in there, 152.5s. Good job Pat! 155s were too fat.

Those so easy to source it's crazy. Those carbs were used on many different bikes, almost any rice shop should be able to get them, HD used them too but they usually have too large a jets for us since they used one cab on a 1300+cc engine. I am sure Fast Eddy can get them for you too as well as Bella Corse, TTP, etc..

Why are you sure your jets are the problem? Have you went from running fine to poorly after modifications, please elaborate a little. Such as, what did you change, if anything?

The Dog33, I went to an HD repair shop and ask them about 124 main jets for my Triumph America and the guy said to remove the jet and bring it in. I prefer to have the jets in hand when I am about to open my carburetor, I will also replace carb cover screws, remove hidden filter and replace it with a see thru filter. this is my first bike and has about 8K miles. Thank you for your help.
