Spoke with a fellow named Chad at Sudco (the US distributors for Keihin FCR 39mm). I asked him about purchasing the FCR carbs for my application (904cc parallel-twin) and he said "nope, sorry." Apparently (according to Chad) Southbay Triumph is the only vendor that has brought together all the specific hardware to make the FCR's work on our Triumphs.

So, folks, - if you want this upgrade, as I do, start polishing your pennies.

BTW, - the new Norton Commando 961 uses the Keihin FCR 39mm carbs & makes 80 HP's at the backwheel.

What's all the hardware? Can't you get the carbs and work out the details?

bennybmn,

Not really. Gotta have special brackets for stock cables. There is different spacing & diameters on the manifold spigots. Different kind of K&N air filter used, among other things.

Sudco makes full kits for other bikes, but not ours. Southbay is the only vendor that has worked out all these retro-fitting details (ARE YOU LISTENING BRENT?).

Just to let you know Pat got the Amals from Brent. I contacted Brent and asked when they would be available and he said in a couple months. They need to work out a few bugs with them, mounting brackets and cables nothing major though. I will be on the list for first shipments of a set of the Amals. From talking with Pat they are the s#*t. He has not road tested them yet but he has said that they sound strong.

I wonder if there would be a chance to get your hands on a SB set from someone and replicate their bracketry?
