Other than fouling a plug and getting worse gas mileage, you're good.

If you've got an EFI model, no harm at all.
Apart from lack of engine braking on that particular ride

And here I thought I was the only one...

You might have ever so slightly fuel diluted your oil, but I strongly doubt it's an issue. Long term would be bad, like -,000 miles, but 30 miles is nuttin'.

Really? I've never done that before!

No damage done. But do it again and she'll protest even harder until you learn! It's just a matter of who teaches whom!

"Choke" I believe is not what you are actually doing. This I believe, and I could be wrong, is actually a throttle advance. Its like giving your bike a little extra gas to start and warm up. I don't ever remember seeing butterfly's inside when I have had my filters off. Anyone who has actually "choked" something beyond what is needed to warm it up will tell you that it will barely run let alone go 30 miles down the road.

My mind and body are still out of tune I hope they run into each other real soon "

I cant say how many times I did that when I had the stock carbs, does not hurt the bike, just the fuel economy.

As for how the choke works on these CVK carbs. when you pull the choke knob a plunger on each carb is moved, this opens an extra circuit to richen up the mixture (more fuel).
Not at all like older style carbs where a slide actually blocked the airflow to litterally choke the carb.
