Me and my new bike on the "back in the saddle" ride. I am still not sure bout the floor boards but will leave them on through this season to see if I get used to them. Main concern is the seat. I'm thinking I might get the seat redone and will borrow a friend's gel pad to see how that works. He took this picture for me so I would change my facebook profile. This picture is the day after getting new tires and rear brake pad. Is it just me or do you look pretty darn happy? It's just me right? But then.... no, I change my mind. You are definitely in a state of heavenly bliss, nirvana... otherwise known as 'stoked!!! Life is good on a Triumph!!

Definately stoked.. i.e. Cat who ate the canary etc...
I wonder why no bike maunfacturer makes a decent stock seat, at least none that I've ever tried. that being said, the Triumph seat was still a huge improvement over the stock seat that my Shadow came with way back when.

Yeah it had rained so I got a bit of a chill, but all in all a great ride. The Shadow I sold was upgraded to a Mustang seat right away, so I really prefer a solid and comfy seat. I heard of a guy that adds gel to existing seats and think I will go that route. I was looking at airhawk seats, but I'm going to be needing the seat to be built up about an inch anyway. One more inch forward and up in the saddle and the bike is perfect for me.
I have to admit, I fell for this bike right away. I knew after riding Soren's Speedmaster that I'd like the ride better, but the America setup is just my style of cruising too. I can now say that I own the bike of my dreams.

Just don't get the Triumph america gel seat, Laurie. It's a piece of crap. Ask me how I know.

if you go the way of corbin, ensure that you tell them your measurements. Inseam weight etc so they can tailor it to you. Also say you want the saddle with cushion. Cushion being I think a saddle with stitching on the seat surface. Oh and ask Jack if he and Nancy are going to GA this year?

Thread Hijack: I just ordered a Corbin without the stitching, is this a mistake? I was thinking that this was just some sort of contrast stitching on the seat, wasn't aware that this made some sort of difference on the cushion.
And now back to the thread...

BigJack, I just may want pegs, but will really give the floorboards a chance first. Trying to get used to swinging my foot out and onto them, then figuring out where my foot is supposed to br once I get there. Been trying to figure out if they would feel better if they could be angled slightly. Zmilin, Thanks for the link. After feeling the way Brent's bike sits, I think that may just be what I am going to do. I'll chek the site.

If you just ordered your Corbin seat, give them a call about the stitching option. It may not be too late as they're probably swamped with spring time orders. I learned about adding the stitching pattern for a bit of extra softness from a member on this forum. I added the Decor stitch pattern using Burgundy coloured thread and then put Burgundy piping around the seat. My Speedmaster is the Mulberry colour, so the seat accents really set it off. The stitched areas gives a bit of puffiness to the seat surface, hence the softer surface area. I get a lot of OOOO's and AAAA's when other rider see my Corbin. I love it ....and the backrest!

Very Sharp... I may try and call Monday and see if the order can be modified, I'm pretty sure it's not in production yet.

You can go to the Corbin site and look at photos of seats with various stitch patterns.....even if they're on another make of bike. Gives you an idea of what's available. I called them a couple times before my order was finalized. The Flame stitch looks good as well. Mines called the Decor stitch pattern.

Laurie, how long did it take to get your seat back from Greatdaytoride? Do you still like it? One more question, did you have the Long Distance upgrade also? Thanks.
