hi duster, it's all done on the individual piece, as it depends on the condition etc.
At the moment I have been doing a lot of gold plating to some harleys (the in thing other than chrome).
I am going to be posting pics of some plating I am doing on my bike soon (gold) on the left side brush casing, the one with triumph across it and some other bits. Let me know if you have any further questions.
