How is it that you put on a less restrictive exhaust system and don't need a re-jet? That just doesn't sound right to me - have you checked your plugs?
Just checked the Bub website (www.bubent.com) which has a whole new look, and they DO advise a rejet. That's new. Used to be that they said it wasn't neccessary. My plugs were checked not long ago and they were fine. No rejet.
I called Bub's tech dept and was told that now a rejet is rec'd because of newer, tougher US emissions standards which are producing bikes that are running lean. Europe kicked in new standards a year (or two) ago and those (read - our) bikes are really leaned out. Hence, Bub now calls for a rejet, or a remap so that the bikes don't run lean.
Perry from Bub told me that a Bonneville is coming in next week and they are going to be working on systems that drop the noise level and keep the performance gains. Noise is the hot issue right now with pipe makers. Perry said that they've got pipes that drop the idle noise to @ 83 DB and half throttle to the mid 90's; but their concern is to keep the performance gains up.
Glad you asked!
