The Specialty Spares pipes used to be available in either finish, Stainless was a few bucks more. I don't see that option on their new website. I wanted to keep the chrome look on my bike. But now that I've learned to polish metal, I'd get the stainless and polish them to a chrome finish. Unlike polished aluminum, the stainless will hold the shine forever.
