I have been ...pumping them, a lot, and their starting to work better..but they are still pretty stiff. They don't want to move good at all once the top nuts are screwed back on.i don't have a clue.

How long of spacer do you guys have in the top of your forks???????mine is 4" long at least. maybe i have spring bottoming out , they are together right.i've been over the diagram [fork] a lot .

Make sure you only tighten all the bolts up to the correct torgue, overtightening them can cause the fork action to stiffen up.

Ya know ROB i think my forks are probably good, As i put the front rim on it roto, calpier, etc And then i lifted by 215 lb body up there and bounced and sat. and now the forks have started to settle in. please remember. These BAs are new to me.I'll ride it and if its to stiff i'll come back and maybe you, will point out to me what i can change, thanks for your reply my friend cheers

The pre-load spacer ought to be just long enough that the tip is barely above the top of the fork tube, forcing you to compress the top nut before the threads will engage. You could experiment with a section of thick wall PVC cut to a different length, after all that's the material Progressive supplies to modify the spacer with their springs, if you think you have too mcuh pre-load.

On thing to keep in mind, these forks don't compress quite as easily as your old BSA due to the neck angle being greater. Al the same, if you mount the bike and bounce the front end you should see some compression without forcing it. You might just check the tubes for square and plumb just like you would if you were framing a house to insure your triple tree didn't whacked out of alignment in that wreck.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

Do to pre-pumping and then pumping .and pumping them some more before installation, i believe they are in the working range, of what they are supposed to be. I will know!... soon as i ride it, one side is a bit stiffer, but its moving now. I will get a tire on the front hopfully in a couple days. then the sheet metal. Can't wait to ride it down the road

Everything seemed to be in range, though ,like the spacers and the amt of oil. In answer to your suggestions.
