Can't believe the prices on replacement chrome parts, I was thinking of buying them until I just saw the cost so I guess I'll have the old stuff rechromed when I have some other stuff done.

Hey Derek... it does seem my bags are listed there as SB2. Here's the (terrible) pic they have there.

Thanks Keith,
I look forward to seeing some pictures of your bags mounted to your bike. Please let us know what mounting system you finally use.

It will be a while before I try to mount those things again. I've put so many hours into getting it to work I just gotta take a break. Meanwhile here's a pic of Piper's bike with the same colour and bags.

I'm curious... are you thinking about mounting a pair of those yourself?

Impressive Keith! I really, really like what you have done so far. Could you just please tell me about the new lights on your bags? What are they? Thanks!

Oh, btw, we were "blessed" with another 4" of snow yesterday. Will this friggin' winter never end???

You poor bugger (as far as weather goes). That sucks. As for the lights... yeah, ain't they pretty? And ya know Bengt, the bezel fits perfectly over the rubber grommet, as though it was made for it.

Now, as for the lights (LED) and bezels, they are marker lights for trucks. The company that makes them is United Pacific. Part numbers I don't have (but can get) as I threw out the packaging.

Mounting them was not too difficult. I cut circles outta thin, hard plastic and essentially glued them into the recessed lip on the outer part of the grommets. That gave me something to drill two holes in for screws which are used to attach the bezels. Oh, and I just glued the beehive lenses to the bezels.

If you can't find these in you part of the world, and are interested in getting a set, let me know and I can mail them to you. In total ((lights, bezels, pigtails)x2) it cost about $40 CAD. Those stock lenses will do but in my case they were cracked so I had to do something.

Btw... thanks for the compliments on the bike. You and yours have been a huge inspiration for me and mine!!

They are the best looking bags I have seen so far.
Piper`s bike looks the bees knees & I can`t wait to see your bike with them on. Maybe Piper you could explain how you mounted yours ?.
I have the Triumph leather bags - they are O.K., but not a patch on your bags - looks wise.
I think they would look well on my bike with my colour scheme.

Keith, you've done a series of seriously professional changes there. Your bike is a credit to your obvious passion we all share in our bikes. Thanks for taking the time to show us which in turn inspires us with our own slant on our own indidividual tastes for our bikes.

Thanks mate. Hopefully it won't be too long now before your babe is up and Cruising your beautiful country. .

Cheers

Keith,

You didn't mention them in your list of this winter's work, but I notice you have shocks with full cans covering the springs. I've been looking for these with no success. Can you tell me what make and model they are, and are they standard 12-1/2" length?

--RT

Correcting myself -- on re-reading your post, I see that's a picture of a different bike (Piper's?) on which I saw the shocks. Still interested in any info you could supply on the shocks, however.

They are Hagons, stock length. However I've now changed shocks into 440's and would never go back. The Hagons work nicely when riding solo, but my wife rides with me so often that I needed better ones. And the 440's are just perfect. Bought them from our very own Fasteddy.

Just don't forget there are Hagons and then there are Hagon Nitros. Not just a difference in price there???

Would you believe it, I just got out bid on American E-bay for a pair of Vintage Shoei Hardbags within the last hour or so.
Maybe it was someone on the forum that got them. Luckey sod

Hi:

What type of Acewell Speedo is that? I like it! Was it hard to wire into the existing harness, etc?

Just found the old thread on the Speedo!

Thanks

BTW Nice job !

The Acewell was not hard to wire at all.
