Could some of you post some pic's of where you relocated your horn? Would like to "clean up" the look a bit but still don't want to ditch it.

IMHO you do want to ditch that horn. It is next to useless for getting someone's attention. Here's a pic of what I did. They are LOUD and they look good!

Those are RIVCO horns and I got them from Eddy. And as I said they are LOUD!! RIVCO would have you mount them underneath, one on each side where the kickstand bolts on. I thought that was wierd!!

I just popped a HD horn cover over an aftermarket horn, which is slightly louder than stock. The covers are all over Ebay, for around $10.

Had removed the air injection valve under the tank many years ago so horn was moved and mounted straight onto the AI valves hole under the tank. Nice and tidy out of site, exhausts are plenty of warning and drown out horn anyway. Tidies front up nicely.

I not sure that follow your mounting location... I had the tank off this last fall when I removed the AI also but it seemed like now matter how I positioned the stock horn it would contact the tank? Heck I don't even remeber anything that was mounted other than the metal tubes in front of the spark plugs & a rubber cap or two with removing the AI. Could you jar my memory to what side and is it to the top bar?

These are cool and ordering from Fast Eddy is so easy and he's easy to buy from.
Do I need the wiring kit? My America has the stock horn, so it's already wired, right?

Austin, I believe the horn was mounted UNDER the top bar where the AI tubes would collect.

Funny how this topic was brought up. I was thinking about how pitiful the stock horn sounds on the way to work. In fact, while wearing ear plugs, I can't hear the wimpy thing. Perhaps its time to upgrade.
Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.

Yes Kathy, you do need the wiring kit which include a relay. You see, the stock horn draws very little power and the handlebar switch can't handle it. But REAL horns draw too much power for stock horn wiring and switch so after all is said and done, the horn switch operates the relay which in turn operates the horn(s). It's not complicated... might sound like it, but it's not.

You are welcome. And from where I sit, the only dumb questions are the ones we don't ask!!  You'll like having a real horn on the bike... it boosts confidence when you know you can really wake someone up. And the fact that there are two horns gives you two tones (notes) which is much more effective than one at making your presence known.
If I could afford only one upgrade on my bike, the horn would be it over anything!!

I ended up buying a pr of these and bought the wiring from Eddy. It was an easy plug and play arrangement and whilst initially I was in two minds about where the manufacturer wanted them placed, I liked the idea of keeping the original horn in it's place and still operating with these two. Btw, anyone around that gives me the opportunity to use them will know they're in the wrong somehow.   Anyway, I did a long ride with them over several days and haven't had one issue. The also aren't the best looking so being underneath is probably the best place for them. I suppose the only concern may be some damage from a stray rock or something but I think they'll be alright, especially with the mud flaps a few of us over here have bought. staffo

Ah, so you did end up mounting them where RIVCO suggests. I'm sure they will be just fine under there. Watcha think of their sound? Mine (the same pair as yours) are piercing to say the least. Yesterday, while meandering down a quiet country lane, a friggin' rottweiler ran out to chase me. When he got within a few feet of my bike I let those horns go and it stopped him in his tracks. Those horns are good for a lot of things!!!!!!!

I like how you mounted those Rivco horns. Did you have to make a special bracket since they are not down where Rivco intends?
I also seem to recall, about 2 years ago, there was a nother popular and very loud Italian make (or Italian sounding name) horn for the Triumphs. The name eludes me right now. Maybe another older member remembers or I will see if I can dig it up tomorrow.

Thanks for for your vote of confidence in the positioning. I knew there would be some that preferred them placed elsewhere and that's fine too.
As far as the "get outa my way" sound, yep I can understand how the rottie lost his nerve in an instant.
My problem is going to be learning I've actually got a horn that "speaks" louder than words if you know what I mean?
Hey, you guys must be able to smell the season changing and maybe even bringing back all those great riding feelings. Hope so anyway, your hibernation is long enough as it is. Let us know if you've got any rides planned. Hey, i still love just riding to work.
