Just picked up the new (to me) 2006 Triumph America and have even got the title transferred already! She handled just like I'd dreamed she would. Still not sure about the floorboards, but I will ride with them for a little while and then decide.

It stopped raining just in time. Still it was a cold ride, but never felt safer on a bike. Realized afterwards the front tire was getting close to bald, but the new tires are ordered and will be on the bike before next Sunday's ride! Also ordered the Thunderbird horn. She will have a good sound when I need it!

She lives in the great wet Northwest, eh?

So, have you and Soren got a garage, or are we going to see pictures of two snow covered Triumphs next winter?

Cute?! Arauagh!

She is a pretty classy looking bike. I think she will rebel against any spikes, or fishtail pipes. Looks cool on Soren's ride, but mine would pitch 'em in the ditch if I tried to put them on her. Might get some more chrome though. See, I don't like bling on my body, but I do like it on my bike! Been thinking of how my Betty Boops might fit in...most likely just on a backpack.

My bike has always been protected from the elements, so sitting in the garage, it looks like Beauty ad the Beast! Still working at some of the weathering on Soren's bike. It has a really awesome well used and rugged good look though.

Great bike, good score! Give the floorboards a chance, they really make longish rides nicer. Plus, you'll get used to reaching for the side stand sooner than you think.

I was not going to comment on the general chrome deficiency, because I know it is not for everyone, but I have always thought that the stock chrome level is a funny middling state; I guess so one can chrome up or matte / black out.

Nice ride! Boards rule, just have to put kickstand up before you get on, for me, can't reach easily.
