My 09 America runs fine. 2 up and loaded it has enough grunt and torque to cruise comfortably. However I am thinking of new pots and pistons in about 160,000 k’s, maybe a 904 conversion , time will tell I guess. I bought my America for what it is. It’s a mid-range cruiser.
If I wanted to do 200k or so I would have bought another bike. I had a 06 Speedy, spent quite a bit of money on it, to make it faster. While it was a bit faster it wasn’t REALLY FAST. I was considerably out of pocket.... If you like the style and the brand and want to go fast, how about the R3 Roadster . Man that’s fast. Really fast. Having ridden one I can say you need Gorilla-Arm-Grip at WOT for that puppy. It’s priced well over here a tad more than the new T-Bird, and I am tempted, it’s a no-brainer really.
But for now my America is just fine, after I had put some respectable pipes on it.
