I just got this documentary about a group named Anvil. I was a metalhead in the 80's but I've never heard of them.

I thought it was going to be another mockumentary like Spinal Tap, but everything I've read seems to point to this being a legit group.

Has anyone here heard of them?

Blimey - that was such a great film.

I saw them at Donnington in 1982. They were way OTT and looked as though they had fun on stage.

I had one of their albums "metal on metal" but I dunno where that went to.

Totally legit group then and still a legit group now.

My bandmates were talking about them cause they were on saturday night live or some late night show. The frontman was pretty freaking funny, making all kinds of crazy faces and whatnot. As for the music.....eh?

They just played in Portland last month. I missed, but my bandmates went, and said it was awesome.

I love that movie.

The movie was great. I thought I was a pretty big metal fan from the late 70's to the mid 80's, but had never heard of Anvil until the movie came out.
