Tell him that you're more than happy to confirm that he bought the parts from you if the inspectors contact you directly
Although I'd still be suspicious if the inspectors asked for your VIN cos they would access to those details if they were genuine, wouldn't they?
Of course you could give him your VIN, but then you run the risk of being in the dock accused of stealing 'his' bike
