They are super comfortable and they fit perfect. Buy it and never look back. Give it about 1000 miles to fully conform to you.

I just added one this year. So far I've only been out with it twice... that is yesterday and today (beautiful rides btw) but already I'm feeling real good about the investment. My tail bone ached in the stock seat (within an hour) whereas the Corbin doesn't hurt at all. And it just feels right... like putting on a fine fitting baseball glove. I'd have to give it a complete season before writing up a decent assessment, but for now safe to say it feels GREAT!!

PS... I got the backrest with it!

I put one on my 06 America 20kmiles ago and have no regrets. If I ever retire the America for another cruiser, it will have a Corbin seat too.

Don't forget the back rest. Over 15k miles on mine, I could not be happier. The stock speedy seat was like sitting on a bag of rocks.

There have been very few who haven't loved their corbins. They definitely get better with age though, as initially you'll probably think (if you get one) it's a bit hard. Don't be fooled it'll stay this way though as the special foam needs "bum time" to mould to your own cheeks. Once it has you'll never look back.

The backrest too can not only add that extra comfort, I use mine to hold a Ventura bag over it as part of my luggage system.

I ordered a seat a year and a half ago from them.. ( their Gunfighter ) I have it on my Speedmaster and love it... Delivery time depends on the time of the year... I got mine in august and it took 8 weeks to be delivered... But they are custom made and when you order it you pick every aspect of the seat ( leather, and vinyl colors etc ) I have white sides with snakeskin seating area to go with the black and white of my bike. You do sit lower in the saddle also.....

Right, every seat is custom made when you order it so it takes a little time.
As for seating position; if anything mine was a little higher and further forward than the stock. That gradually changes as it "seats" in.

And ++ on the backrest.

Spot on Moe. In fact it was the very first difference I noticed Immediately when I sat on my bike with it compared with the stock piece of junk. sounds corny I know but it Felt like I was more part of my bike and not just plunked on top of it.

Also, Whilst the look of the backrest might not be everyones cup o tea, I would seriously consider it as an option cos they can't be added on later if you don't buy the seat built for one.

I would be one of "not real thrilled" Corbin owners. I have a gunfighter and have had it for 4 years, over 15,000 miles on it. I b^~*h every time I ride on it. When it was at about 2000 miles I called Corbin and said it was too hard and had not broke in as expected. IN CORBINS DEFENCE THEY WERE MORE THAN WILLING TO FIX IT. The catch was that I ordered it when I bought the bike and it was financed in with the bike. So that meant the seats warranty was with the dealer. (4 hrs away). It was in the middle of riding season so I didn’t want to not ride. Long story short, I have just put up with it. I have always intended to have it redone locally with a base layer of gel and a layer of comfort foam (closed cell foam) and recovered. Not only that all the mounts for the back rest are in the frame so I will have the opening made for it so I can fit my own back rest.

SO WORD TO WISE, PAY FOR IT YOURSELF AND LET THEM KNOW IF YOU WANT "A BIT MORE SOFTNESS" THAN STANDARD. THEY WILL BE HAPPY TO DO IT ANY WAY YOU WANT. I STILL LIKE THE COMPANY.

For the Corbin Saddle, larger rearends don't like the backrest post stanchion that is molded into the saddle. neither does their coccyx.

UPS? Ship from a UPS store and you cannot file a claim for a lost shipment. The store has to. Ship from a true UPS location and the claim is in your hands.

I know the part you are talking about and originally it concerned me too but somewhere along the "moulding to my backside period", the problem stopped and now I don't feel any hard spots.

True enough but floorboards changed my riding position and solved that for me; no sore spot problems at all on 400 mile days. Second Corbin solo seat I've had and they've improved both bikes they were on. You can also order the seat minus the backrest socket, I just didn't know that until I had the saddle in hand.

Just something I just remembered. A few years ago now there was a period where there were several not so satisfied Corbin purchasers. Considering there was this "I love my Corbin" Versus some who didn't like theirs, I put forward the possibility that perhaps the size of one's rear end may have been a factor.

I was just putting it out there, but I also realised there may have been a bit of defensiveness coming from the larger crowd.

Anyway, whilst mine wasn't and isn't one of the bigger versions out there and I, and most of the other happy Corbin owners were similar in dimensions, it did appear there may have been somthing in it.

Now whilst I couldn't give two fat rats what this rider or that looked like, what was important was whether members could have been honest in their own personal assessment cos at that time the Corbins were even more expensive, it was merely going to be just some more info to assist anyone looking at a Corbin to help them in their decision.

Anyway, I just thought I'd mention this thread again just in case anyone had their own thoughts or experieces to add one way or the other. Hopefully it makes no diff whatsoer.

This is not a "I have one so it's great" response, but.
I put the Corbin & Pillion on early last year. For the record I'm 235 lbs plus my wife is what she is (not telling, safer).
Anyway, at first I noticed how firm it was and wondered if I had made a mistake. Them I used them all last year on short and long trips. To me the more I use it the better it is.
If I had to do it over I would still buy the Corbin. My wife totally agrees (that sure helps).
There is another aspect of the seats that you can't help but consider. The fit & trim. These seats look great. They stand out.
Communication sometimes with Corbin is so-so but in the end I am sold on their seats. I think I waited 6 weeks for the pair. Time well spent looking in hind site (joke). Wayne

Goodonya Wayne. Glad to hear you are in the happy camp but even better, in your situation you never found being one of the bigger blokes out there had any adverse effect on the Corbin's comfort value.

Sometimes I wonder whether some in the past haven't given it long enough to mould in properly (so to speak). FYI, I did go out and buy one of those woopy cushion things (blow up arrangments),due to getting a little sore after 4 or 5 hours in the saddle, eventually I just didn't find I got sore any more. It was like a miracle

I bought a Corbin seat and it was in my hands in 5 weeks. Quality throughout! I noticed right away that I was sitting lower and my feet were now flat on the ground at traffic lights. No more tippy toes!

Also with the lower center of gravity my handling improved somewhat at the twisties were less of a problem. I have not yet broken it in yet and only have about 500 miles on it but it really is more comfortable. I can ride for 45 mins now without my butt going numb. I used to be able to only go 20 mins.

We did a 165 mile trip Saturday last and we made three stops for bathroom breaks, smoke breaks and butt breaks. It really helped the handling in the high winds we had.

Overall so far so good, I am happy with it....kinda pricy but the quality is there.

Might want to dress it up by replacing the fugly rear bracket on the Corbin saddle with the chrome bracket off the oem saddle.
