Going to dump the fork shrouds and go with Gaiters. Can I just lift the front end up and drop the tubes through the yokes? Is there an easier way?

Yes, you can drop the forks and pop the gaiters on. The bike does need to be pretty high. I've done it with the front wheel in place or removed. It's a handful with the wheel in place and not worth the risk of damage.

Thought I had a picture. I pulled the forks to polish them.

I agree. When I did my wee Bonnie I did one leg at a time and it went pretty smoothly although it took longer than I thought it would.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

I just dropped the forks to get the shrouds off. I pulled the wheel and fender first. You may find you have to wedge open the triple tree squeeze clamps a bit to get the forks to slide on out.
