Just got done installing the Nology coils and wires. Went for a three minute ride afterwards, and the bike seemed to start up faster and seems to run a lot smoother. With the exception of answering the phone and runing to the harware store (twice) for the right size bolts and a torx screw driver, it took about five minutes to install them both. I hooked up the ground strap for the wires to the bracket that use to hold the AI thing. I havent changed the spark plugs yet. I am going to use a set of Splitfire TP416B plugs. I checked with four different auto parst stores around here and it was next to impossible to find Splitfire plugs much less the ones for our bikes. So, I ordered some online.

BTW.. The bolts for the AI bracket are 6mm and the torx size for the screws that hold on the coils are t-25

Hi Soren

Looks like a nice neat job, I keep looking at these on Brents site, but waiting for a reg plate surround off Brent a little larger than the US one and don't know what the cost will be so just hanging fire for the moment...

Did you notice any difference in power/acelleration?

It seemd to, but I didnt get a chance to ride long enough to really give it a fair shake. If I ride to work sometime this week, I'll get a better chance to tell.

Just my two cents guy's, I installed the Nology coils, premium wire set and iridium plugs from Brent and I can positivley tell a difference in the seat of the pants performance and no doubt it starts faster and idles smoother. Great Mod worth every penny. Tmax

True, but the coils themselves are definitely a step in the right direction! Have had them on since December, an easy and worthwhile mod.

Must be a run on these. I just installed mine yesterday. BTW Soren thanks for the pic. I attached my grounding braids to the same point. Very handy. I bought a pack of 6mm-1.0 x 12mm long hex head cap screws from O'Reilly's for about $1.50.

While I was at it I pulled the plugs and checked gap and color. I noticed the Hotwire packaging mentioned non-resistor plugs were better. I left the NGK DPR8EAs in. Riding afterwards it seemed I got a little quicker acceleration and more low end power. But I also, installed the K&N air filter and pulled the snork.

Well yesterday I installed the Nology wires and coils. Worthwhile mod IMHO.

I road the bike before the mod to have as good a baseline as I could get.
Did the mod in less than an hour including putting on the flush gas cap. Took my time to make sure every thing was just so.

Then I fired her up, the quicker starting was noticable and the idle was smoother. As for increased power...my but dyno didn't notice anything appriciably different but my ears did. The bike ran smoother and the little bit of pop that I normally get on decell was reduced.

Overall, I can't say for sure that the bike has more power or torque but it just runs better. Or maybe a better way to say it is it sounds smoother. Oh, the throttle response seemed less dodgy and warm up time was about half what I normally seam to have.

Note this is just my observation but from two different rides yesterday and today it just seems to run better.

RW, if you have not rejetted yet you are probably just about at the point of melting a hole through the top of your pistons. Vegas

I think the same thing. After the weather get better and I am able to go for a real ride, I will be able to tell for sure. I am still waiting for those spark plugs to show up in the mail. I am willing to bet that they will make a big difference as well.
