It's no comparison by size here, but the New Madrid fault shifted on us too. Caused a 3.7 quake. If you guys don't know where this one is at, it's in the boot heel of Missouri. If it goes off, the entire US is gonna feel it. It's a doozy.

Seriously though, the one in Chile was devastating, it shortened our days by 1.26 milliseconds. That takes some power.

Ya, we've had that one due since what...1994? The last one made the Mississippi flow backwards and redirected it's route over a town or two...permenantly. It's just a matter of time and yes, it's going to be a doozy.
