I recall the mechanics at a Triumph-Norton-Yamaha dealership years ago urging me to sell my '67 TR6R, and get a then new XS650 which was far more reliable according to them.

FWIW, my current 1500 Classic FI has a personality, and the only reason why I got it back in April/02 was because the HD stealerships in California wanted $18K for the $14K FLHT. Used ones were $15K. My jhap copy was discounted to $9K. Planned to keep it a year or two then sell it, but it turned out to be a much better bike that I had expected, and is a keeper. I even left the badges on the gas tank.

At any rate, I don't really care what anyone rides as it's more about who you are than what you ride, but those BA/SM cruisers sure are hard to overlook!
