it should come with a stock setting and you can play around to make your own

OK, for want of making myself look a right IDIOT I can confirm I have NO starting issues with the new Procom.

The reason it would not start when I went out there after it had not been started for 6 weeks was..... (drumroll) FUEL LOL

I put it onto reserve and it has started 1st try the last 5 times I have tried it, it seems to be fine... I have NOT rode the bike yet so cannot comment on performance.

But I am thinking that there were others that said since they have installed the new Procom unit their bikes are harder starting. Can anyone comfirm or deny this? I think Moe was one of them. Am I right?

Well today saw the first ride since putting the new Procomm CDI unit on..

Rode 17 Miles from cold, at the beggining bad misfire at UNDER 2000 rpm while pulling away, same when hot... otherwise WOW what a difference

Got to my mates and was kicking it about as you do and remembered I had my TPS disconnected, replugged it back in and it started fine and on the ride home the under 2k rpm misfire had gone.

I have a very small hesitation in the pull off but nothing serious.

So, overall what a great improvement, rides like a different bike.. had one other issue when I booted it and hit the rev limiter at 8200 the rev needle dropped to zero (bike kept going) as I changed gear rev needle returned to what it should have been, maybe just an electrical glitch but what a JOY to ride now

Hope this helps,

I had that, starting with the procom seems harder... Normally its instant but with the procom you seem to have to "hold" the starter on for much longer

Might be irt needs some tweaking on the lower end of the timing map?

We need to sort this out, wonder how many people now are using the cdi from procom.. once running its so much better.

Matt!

Well then. Procom released 9 new maps. 3 maps for each rider skill level.

Beginning Rider Maps

Medium-level Riders Maps

Advanced Riders Maps

Each skill level has three maps. A map for a bone stock machine. A map for a machine with Minor modifications. Lastly a map for a machine with General modifications.

Your question? Oh yeah. What map do I have loaded currently? None of the above. I have loaded a map generated by Brian (BrianT) that modified the baseline procom map using the Timing vs RPM ONLY. The Timing vs TPS had no variation from the base line.

Timing Alternative 1 BrianT

Take your pic, eh? I will be uploading the other maps. However I happen to be occupied with a certain avaricious Dame

Now why would General Modification precede Minor modifications? Is General like Major? I digress.

Given your ride, what map to choose based on verbiage alone? Guessing you would select from among the three Advanced Riders map. Probably map 06 then giving 09 a try (i.e., CMTBSA-06; CMTBSA-09).

If you have a laptop, or a way to reach your sickle with a usb cable connected to a puter, try em all and report for us? Simple enough to upload maps.
