Cobb County is in Georgia I think. Not a small county.
I have a big question in this case. Your son, is a minor and the officer being aware of his age and ownership of the car has made an error. Your son as a minor does not have the legal standing to allow a search of your car.
Now the car can be searched for inventory if they are towing it away. Doesn't sound like that is the way it went down.
