Funnily enough we were talking about other sports they could have at the winter olympics, some quite sensible, others, errrr not so.

We thought that ice climbing might be quite good, the quickest to climb a route along an icewall.

Snow shoeing. You have to snow shoe up a mountain side.

A combination event along the lines of downhill ski, biathlon (back to an elevated level) and then either skeleton or luge down to the finish. We decided this should be called the James Bond event.

But then it just disintegrated.....the ski cross, instead of using ski poles - take baseball bats down with them.

Plastic bag racing down the bobsleigh run.

A cross between the ski jump and barfly. The competitors have to dress in velcro suits and attach themselves to a big wall at the end of the jump. Most points wins.

Otherwise everyone at work has been raving about how good the ski cross and snowboard cross events were - definetly a good winter spectator sport.

Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"
