I won the bid on ebay on a used (1992 vintage) Langlitz. The seller was real good at giving me precise measurements, so it fits real well. Couldn't be happier. With Lanlitz's new jackets running around $1,100 now, $480 was a steal for this kind of quality.

Wow, I just can't imagine an $1100. leather jacket. Do they come with GPS built in? Is the liner solar powered electric? Gold plated snaps and zippers? I've seen some really nice jackets at 1/3 the price, made in USA, nice leather. I have a Chilhowee that cost even less than the nice ones I've seen. Mine's an import, but fits perfect, and works incredibly well, thinsulate lining, etc. I'll eventually get a nicer one, but I'd still have enough left over for a trailer or something.

For that kind of money you would think they could upgrade their website. Reputation or not, I could not bring myself to spend my $$$ with a business that portrays itself to the world like that. Didn't exactly "sell" the product, if you know what I mean.

My Vance Chief ran me $200 from Mad Mac's a few years back and works for me. Can't see dropping $1100 on a jacket. Too many other things to get.

$1100?!?!?! For a JACKET?!?!?!?
Is this a Seinfeld episode? Does it come with a pink liner?

Nice buy HP! I believe they're worth it Phil. Base cost for a Columbia is $850, you send in 12 measurements, the fit, quality and guarantee (they'll tear it down and redo the jacket if it isn't right) is excellent. I'm somewhere between doing OK and starving, but I looked at the dollars in various bike goodies and decided last year to invest some dollars in personal protection, not to imply there aren't other excellent jackets on the market. I'm trying to decide if I should use my tax return for a pair of fitted pants, although my old chaps built by Milt Fox of Fox Saddlery in 1982 protect everything 'cept my butt and I've gotten very used to them.
