When I cut out the bottom of the airbox, I cut out the bottom of a stock paper filter. I had 3 baffles out of the pipes, 130 main jets, TBS needles, screws out 3 or 3 1/2 turns. The difference was remarkable. The tach would zip around and time to shift again.
Learned the hard way about rain soaking the air filter. It took about 150 miles in steady, sometimes severe rain before the bike quit, however. I had to go the rest of the way with no air filter. When I got home, I simply dropped a stock air filter over the hole. I've since changed to quieter TOR's with milder jetting.
