Steve, When you say slipped out of the top housing...still attached to the bottom, do you mean slipped out of the rim that the tire is secured too with the spoke hanging from the center hub? Or slipped out of the hub and attached to the rim? It makes a difference. Can you take a couple of pics of the spokes up close especially the ends?

We're guessing here because most of us haven't seen this kind of failure before where spokes fail while at rest.
