IMO, there is no reason that the U.S. shouldn't win every event that features tricks (snow boarding, free style ski jumping, etc) after all we invented doing stupid stuff.

You hate having to beat the same team twice to win a championship. Especially, when that team has the home field advantage both games. The U.S. vs. Finland is this afternnoon. Got to get past that one first.

Ahem!!!!

Let's see who wins the USA/Canada match. Classic match. Should be a real good game.

ANY PREDICTIONS ON THE FINAL GOAL TALLY?

After watching the Canada game last night, I feel better about U.S. winning a second time. Canada scored 3 goals in the first period and then couldn't score again while Slovakia scored 2 in the last period.

U.S. by two or more goals. 4-2 or 5-3 even though they don't have home field advantage.

I was watchng the NBC Olympic coverage this afternoon and they ran a compelling feature piece of the Newfundland (Gander) response immediately following 9/11. Within hours ~170 jetliners & close to 6,000 people had landed in a towne of 10,000. Powerful stuff involving "average" Canadien folks. Then on a lesser scale, I thought of all the local support & kindness I experienced last July

So I'll be watching tomorrow & hoping for nothing more than a good match. Maybe wear the Maple Leaf lapel pin Gordie gave me

Good choice of infliction on the language there John. And a great universal attitude too I might add, something which is also reflected in your sig.

I for one appreciate your sentiments and look forward to an exciting game with lots of entertainment value.

Considering Canada invented the game, I'm going for the home side.

Yes, how fitting that it was a lady with a tea tray! Better performance by Team GB than Turin they say - that must have been really bad!!

Anyway great games and a great game tonight - congratulations Canada!

Highlight - every ski cross race and our super quick tea lady.

Great defensive game. I thought for sure the U.S. would win after pushing to overtime in the last minute with an open net. I guess the team should be happy with the silver, especially against a top Canadian team. One of these days....

I agree Al,

Neil Young was fitting close singing "Long May You Run" , but then in my opinion only, it kinda' turned into a lounge act. I found myself watching only to see if they would project a holographic image of Lorne Green. I would have replaced that woman comedian with somebody like Anne Murray.

Ivan did you know the whole of the winter olympics was a sideshow for the lady sliding down an ice chute on a tea tray event.

So by my reckoning I think we won it.

Otherwise Vancouver did put on a really good winter Olympics, the ski and snowboard cross events were pretty spectacular and the final of the ice hockey capped it very well.
