OK guys, here it is.
The final route is now set up and it's a great one. From Pete's Cycle
to Catoctin, Antietam, and Harper's Ferry. About 250 miles
round trip. Everyone will receive a map in case you get separated from
the group. A few stops here and there for gas and munchies. It will
end in Harper's Ferry where there are some NICE resturants to get a
bite to eat before the ride home. We will have RIDE PATCHES for sale
($5 )at Pete's. They look nice and commemorate the ride. The patches
are iron on /sew on type patches so those of you that don't sew (LOL)
can just iron them on. Get to Pete's early for coffee and doughnuts
and free registration. Ride out is about 9:00 a.m. Remember to bring
your camera and hope for nice weather!
See Ya then!

Jeff,
Did you want to try to hook up for this one? I know Kasey & Joe are interested plus a few more of the guys over at Clinton...

Just a reminder the date on the events page is wrong, this ride is 6/25 not 7/25. I saw one of the patches and they really look good. See you all on June 25th, looks to be a great ride.

Jeff,
Right now it looks like it’s only going to 4 of us. Me, Kasey, Big Steve & Jake. We will meet you at Pete’s…

Glad you picked that up! Must have been one of those hang over days when I posted it! Yes it should be 6/25/06 NOT 7/25/06. I have written to CHY to see if he can change it for me. Thanks

GRRRRRRRRRRR.. [begin rant] i've just been informed i will not be riding this sunday. i am getting very sick of carrying a bunch of incompetant jackholes here at my work. i'm on a "team" of 7 people who support CICS but management declared i'm the only one they have confidence in when it comes to validating new software releases (so i'm really good right? SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!! grrrrrrr), so it would be career limiting for me to miss this sunday's release. [/end rant]
have fun, be safe!

I think this will be a last minute call for me. I was listening to the weather reports this morning and they are calling for a very stormy weekend. I don’t mind riding in the rain but not really looking forward to that long of a ride in heavy downpours.

I left yesterday and was caught in the rain twice. I stayed in Mansfield P.A. last night. This morning the weather channel's forecast for the rest of the weekend for the east coast was poor, so I regret I have to miss this one. I don't mind getting wet once or twice but not for 5 days straight.I turned west and did some excellent riding in a dry P.A.. Put 600 miles on the bike in two days.

Got some really heavy downpours earlier. I was in the cage when they came through. Got so heavy had to drop the speed to about 10mph so I could see. I’m glad I wasn’t on the scooter. It would have been one of those times you park under the overpass and wait it out. Anyway, I’m still holding out some hope to ride tomorrow. I’m going to get up in the AM check the weather channel and decide at that time.

We are all going to show up this mornnig as a club and at that time decide wether or not to ride. It's no sense have a ride that far if you can't be safe and enjoy it. If we decide to cancel it it WILL be rescheduled for another time. Maybe in a couple of weeks or so. That will give us time to get the word out. Ride Safe EZ

Got up around 5:30 looked out the window and the rain was coming down pretty good. Checked the weather channel and looked like more rain was on the way to the areas we would be riding. Decided to jump back in bed. I’m hoping the ride was rescheduled because I really wanted to go on this one….

Yep rain was indeed a let down. Guess we should get in tight with the Sun gods for September to keep the rain away.

Hey guys, Sorry I haven't got back to you about the ride. I've been kinda busy. Anyway, the ride is scheduled for Oct. 15, 2006 with a RAIN DATE of Oct. 22,2006 . If we don't get it in this time because of bad weather it won't be rescheduled until next year. Registration time has been changed though. Instead of 8:30 a.m. registration will begin at 8:00 a.m.Sorry for the delay and hope to see you guys there Ride Safe EZ

I rode up to Harpers Ferry to try and hook up with the group. Never did run across them (Harpers Ferry and the surrounding area is beautiful). But still had a really nice ride.

What happened to the DC RATS. Was hoping you guys were going to do the ride . Casey, Gene, Jethro. You guys missed a good one. Just a little cold to start but was a beautiful day. Western Maryland is beautiful this time of year. Round trip was about 225 miles. We had about 45 bikes show up. Got home around 6 p.m. Oh well, maybe we'll do it again in the spring and you guys can come. Ride Safe
