We don't do anything for VD. You have to establish that early on in a relationship. But, for you guys that do have to indulge your women on this most romantical of days, remember that March 14th is Steak and BJ Day. It's like the guys version of today. And I think the title is pretty explanatory.

We went out to our Triumph dinner last night surrounded by all our friends and looking back on a year of fun on two wheels...does it get any better than that?

The Missus says [she's] never heard of it - does Hallmark make a card for that ?"

Besides, March 14 is Pie Day.

That reminds me, I need to renew my search for a square pie tin.

I told Soren my theory, which is that candy and fluff companies got worried when people were keeping their new years resolutions to diet and declutter, so the whole day is to guilt people into sabotaging those efforts with candy and stuff that either wilts or catches dust.

I say, gather your friends, start those engines, and ride! Seems like a much better use of the day to me! Am I wrong?

We don't get anything for Valentine Day either. She does remind me of March 14th though. I'm pretty lucky I suppose.

To answer your question... 'no.' But cha know... I woke up alone ('cause I'm single you see) and started to blurb out the words... Happy Val..en....tine's Daaa....y, when I realized there was no one there to receive my sentiments. Then I started a batch of coffee only to realize there was no one but me to drink it. Soon thereafter I cracked an egg for french toast and was about to crack a second when I realized I was the only one around to eat breakfast. I then broke down in a fit of sorrow and woes the whole time under the influence of deep and emotional aloneness. Oh yeah... the torment became even more unbearable when I went out to pick up some groceries and saw more than one couple walking hand-in-hand with that syrupy look of affection on their faces, sniff, sniff. Just telling this story is almost more than I can take... (just hang on while I go blow the ol' snodge) boo hoooooooo, sniffle sniff!!!

Then I realized that hey... I LIKE living alone with my groovy lifestyle!! I have lotsa female energy in my life, such as Melody and Harmony (my music), and my bike (she is yet unnamed). Once the tears and sobbing subsided and the realization that I'm perfectly content kicked in I was fine... but I tell you, every year I dread February 14th 'cause I go through the same thing. It's not easy for a single guy like me but I can take it... I'm tough!!!!!

(Any single female bikers need only apply... or pm me)!!

Sherri and I went out to our favorite Thai place last night (they're closed Sundays). We didn't do much else. Watched a movie. I got her a tribble (no, that's not a euphemism) and she got me some chocolate covered fortune cookies. I don't do flowers or candy or jewelry. She knew that going into it.

Jo & I went for a ride to a small country town named Lowmead.

We had lunch at the local pub and talked for a while with the other riders in the group. There were 12 bikes in all and we had a great day. We only had a short ride of 180 Klms round trip as it was the usual 32c at this time of year.

Just to hot for this old fella to be riding to far.

hmmmmmm, I spent the afternoon unravelling & explaining the miracle of rumen metabolism to a bunch of sheep kids (not keds). An empty 1 qt milk container & 2' garden hose were all the props I needed. I know, it's a gift.

Such is the life of a simple-minded country boy.

I went to "The Pub" in Lexington, and picked up my completed Pub passport, (free)jacket and certificate. Now I get my pints for half-price for life! Woo-hoo!
