THAT is the show I want to see. Hungry builders doing it in their garage or basement for the love of the bikes. That's why I like forums like Chopcult.com and chopperhandbook.com. Dudes building incredible stuff in their garages.
Maybe the Horse should do a show, different guys each week building stuff in their back yards and garages.

Wow John! Twitter now has ADHD??? Would that be a full 1080p or just 720p, dude???

The show jumped the shark after Vinnie (and Cody) left. Vinnie was basically doing all the work while Sr. played bad-****** and Jr. played prima dona. Mikey, well, he just played Mickey. I hope for the best for Rick.

That show on the "full throttle saloon" in sturgess show. That got to me even quicker than "american chopper" . bitchin every episode about there money.
I liked that show that Exile did where a guy got a chance to build a bike and if he could start it and do a burn out he could keep it. Saw a guy do a kick only Knuckle on there once. Took nuts to do a kick only bike and he almost didn't get it started.

Yeah, that was a good show. It really made guys put their talent where their mouth is. Exile makes cool stuff too.

I didn't have time to stop in today, trying to get home and beat the snow (that didn't exactly work out for me). It's a little sad, I remember six years ago, when the show was just starting, I could stop by the old shop (part of their metal shop at the time). They would just have the doors open and you could walk in and chat with them. One morning, I spent about 30 minutes talking with Vinnie before any of the Teutels arrived (he said I'd have to leave if Sr. came in). He was a great guy and just happy to be famous. I remember his answer to my question on whether people walking in and talking to him was a bother. He said "nah, how long do you think this is going to last?". Shortly after the first season, the cordoned off the shop from the t-shirt sales counter (Jr.s girlfriend and Vinnie's wife manned the sales counter at that time). Than, they opened up a botique clothes only store at the local mall and I stopped dropping by. Quote:
Yeah.Yiou guys all hit on the problem in all these posts.I just got sick of watching all of their homes andproperty, and got to thinkin, you can only build so many of thes :choppers"like this especially, and then they are all done. to hard to ride. And when paul JR wanted the boutique crap, that was goin to far and that lazy mikey, i'd have fired him soon as the program started. So the problem being i don't think, least it don't look like any of them saved a dime. You don't keep "ranchs" like that up on unemployment checks. To bad they should have buried their differences and come up with some new stuff for different bikes ,And they they would still be riding the "gravey train". That show on the "full throttle saloon" in sturgess show. That got to me even quicker than "american chopper" . bitchin every episode about there money. And Sports has got enuff time on tv!!!. football used to be monday nite football..now its saturday, sunday nie.all three nites Thats a bit much. they always over do the shows. survivor is gettin the same way ...but she luvs it.so i have to watch some of it. i bought her her own flat screen.shes all set now sorry!!

I must admit I did have a good day out when I went and visited the showroom last year (despite getting lost in Hudson on the way there). It was quite nice to see some of the bikes that they built up close and check out the workmanship on them although I would have reservations about taking any of their bikes out for a spin.
Some of the shows were good and the guys did a great job in supporting charities and armed forces charities.
The drama that always ensued was a bit tiresome but thats probably what the TV executives wanted.
I hope they don't go under because of the TV deal, it might have them concentrate knocking out a few decent practical bikes.
Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

I was feeling kind.... I'm back up there next week and will really have to stop by. I'm curious to how their Ducati sales are doing alongside their lineup..... Quote:

Well, I stopped by OCC today. Wow, the place sure has a feel of death around it. Guess what brand has completely vanished from the building? It appears Ducati has taken a powder. When I was by in January, the sign was up, but now, no reminders of that ill-fated partnership. They had about a dozen bikes for sale scattered thru the building. Two high school girls are hawking the overpriced clothing. I went back to the shop viewing area. There were two bikes on the 15 or so work stations. Three guys were working around it, but appeared to primarily be goofing off.

It got to the point where I would watch that show with a stopwatch to keep track of how much time they spent ACTUALLY working on bikes.
When it got below 15 mins of bikes / 60 min show, I just lost interest.

If the two major Alpha Hotels in the show had any sense they would have buried the hatchet and would be making major deposits into off shore bank accounts today. However the TV execs figured the stress and bickering would sell the show and encouraged it to the point where Vinney and Cody left the show. Leaving Rick to the major part of the work on the bikes.
I really enjoyed the show for the first couple of seasons but when the toxic relationship between Walrus Face and Prima Donna son became the major focus on the show I lost interest. Mikey is a total waste of Air Food and Water and should have been given the boot years ago. His art is a joke and I wonder how he will make a living from here on out.
The concept was good but the TV execs turned it into a slime fest in a swimming pool. Now if someone could come up with a show with believable characters building Triumph Bikes from the 50's and 60's that would earn my votes.
I feel sorry for Vinney and Rick as they are the ones who have suffered collateral damage through no fault of their own.
