You can use a piece of clear plastic tube that fits tightly on the bleeder nipple. Run that into a CLEAN glass jar with fluid in it so that the plastic tube is covered. Pump the brake and you will see the bubbles as you force the air out. This prevents you from making a mess with fluid all over and also prevents any air being sucked back in the line.
