I love how these fwd. controls compliment the flow of the bike. Next on the agenda is to fab up some kind of bracket to hold the oil cooler between the forward controls where the frame wishbones. I decided to put it there because it'll be much less conspicuous than where the stock oil lines permit me to place it. I'll need to have longer lines made up, but it'll be worth it.
I also drilled the holes for mounting the coils under the seat & found a place last night to mount the Procom ignition. I should be getting my Mosfat reg/rectifier today. I just need to find a place to mount it & a fuse box & I'll be ready to start wiring. I'll make a whole separate thread about that process.

Are those foot controls from Ness? The pegs look all Battistini-ish. I thought about doing Battistini (holey) grips on my bike but I like my throttle rocker too much.

They do look like Battistini's, don't they? I went to their site once, took 1 look at the prices & beat feet outa there. I found these on Ebay thru a seller called Special Machining Technology. $450 shipped & worth every penny. The machining is awesome. They do have a website:

Roadworthy, I didn't even know there were aftermarket oil coolers until about two weeks ago. I doubt I'd be willing to switch now since I've got all the necessary parts. I figure with a black bike, oil cooler, and cooler mount along with where it'll be located, the darned thing should be barely noticeable. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Personally, I like the Sparta lights to have the lens base to be perfectly perpendicular to level (the road). I know MOST are not, but I always looked at it like a lack of attention to detail. My opinion, who cares right!

Also, IF you ever used a "Blue Dot", they only work BEST if directly in front of the filiment, in line with eyesight.

I'm still wondering how I'm going to mount that Sparto on the ribbed rear fender I've got comming... I'll figure something out. I've got a Dremmel and plenty of files.

Get your welding buddy to french the base into the fender, that'll look better than grooving the base of the Sparta.

If you have some brass still around you could fab a bracket & move the signals up by the head lights, sort of like a highway light bar looking thing. I must a gree the bike is looking SICK!!!!

I love twin headlights on a chopper but I would put the lower one up and back some but that is my taste. I think they look good where they are just not what I would do , guess that's why I'm not building it.

Hey Tom, where do you get your brass stock from? I accent with brass as well, thin flat stock is at the hobby shops, but thicker brass stock, 1/8 through 1/2", I can't find.

I don't remember if you mentioned (or are willing to) how much Tigman hit you up for just the frame, not including the springer and such. Just the frame and engine mounts.

Ya' know, I can't remember if it's chrome-moly or not & don't have it written down anywhere. I do know that he used 2" neck stock, 1 1/2" backbone & downtube, and the main frame is 1 1/4". It does comply with the NHTSA (Nat'l. highway traffic safety admin>) 'Safety Act' section 15 & with Federal motor vehicle safety standards. Compliance is stated on the MSO.

There's been a fair amount of progress and a couple of setbacks over the last couple of weeks but nothing much worth posting.
Since I decided to re-locate the oil cooler, I had to find someone local who can use the existing banjo fittings from my stock oil lines & make new ones of the proper length. That is being worked on but they will simply be black hydraulic lines. I need to find a way to cover them.
I discovered the caliper assembly I bought for the front wheel is for the left side of the bike 'when sitting on it' NOT when standing in front of the bike looking towards it.
Hey, I didn't know...
My rear fender is on back order for 20 days now & it's holding up getting the sissybar & tail lamp mounted.
Things are slowly coming together as far as getting the bike ready to wire. I've been making brackets all week from steel bar stock for the turn signals, the reg/rectifier, the Procom CDI, and two nice carb supports from brass. I'm sure I'll find others that need making before I'm done. Once I get a decent amount cleaned up and prepped, I'm going to powdercoat them right in my basement. I bought myself a home powdercoater's kit, have done a few pieces and am duly impressed. There will be pics of that entire process when I do it, probably in a few days.
My local welder has been very busy, but he's finally contacted me & is supposed to show up Friday night and then Saturday to do a few things. Hopefully the weather won't keep him from making it.
If everything goes according to schedule, come sometime next weekend I should have a ton of pics about the wiring job and hopefully video of starting her up for the first time.

Covering the lines is easy, you can get braided stainless at auto parts stores to cover it. There are also braided colors available.

That's what I was thinking, but I had no idea you could buy it at an auto parts store. I'm gonna have to go look for some of that tomorrow.

Near me A&A, NAPA, Nat'l, and a couple others all have it hanging on the wall. I got some when I ran my handle bar control wires in the bars.
