i must say i don't clean the bike nearly as often as I should/would like to but i'm an all year rider, 5 days a week to work and if the weather's good (HAHA) weekends too, and in our crap weather there's so much dirt and grime picked up from the road surface. Especially now we're getting snow and frost a bit more regularly for some reason the concils are deciding to dump 6 tonne of salt and grit on the roads. well that's mighty handy

will look into paint thinners/solvents when i get in, although I've always worried about using stuff like white spirit or strippers/thinners on the chrome exhaust just in case so never tried it
