Wouldn't even have to drill anything you could A- attach the splitter to the headlight bolt or B- use one of the light bar mounting holes.

As far as working, it will work fine, the Suzuki GT550 and GT750 I had and have respectively both have the front brake set up that way. I have seen quite a few others too.
