Too often people lose sight of that. I once had a tenant who went out of his way to p!ss me off whenever possible. I finally reminded him that his lease was up and all I had to do was give him 30 days notice to vacate, so knock off the attitude. He actually threatened me! It took a few months before I could actually get him out but it was worth it.
As for complaints in restaurants, if it was so bad I will not be going back I just leave. But, if I want them to fix something before I come back I always ask for the owner/manager and privately explain what the problem is. Calm & polite, as if I'm telling a friend he has spinach in his teeth.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
