Tuesday night happy hour turned into free club level tickets to the Caps vs Red Wings for myself, wifey and 2 friends. A birthday celebration, the game, and 3 bars later we came across a brand new place called the Iron Horse. Though closed, we talked our way in for a pee and a quick look around... a beautiful Norton in the front window. A two tone 67? Triumph polished up just inside the entrance. Five or so Hondas above the bar area downstairs.

Details are fuzzy. It is kind of like a mirage...

I'll go back in the next week or so when I have a camera and a few functioning brain cells for more details. The place had just opened Tues night, and their website is just a placemark right now, but if anyone is in DC soon, ya may want to stop in for a pint and a look.

I'd love to see that place, but it's a little far for me. Looking forward to a pic or two though.

Wonder if it is related to the Iron Horse magazine. They had a big party in DC last year, can't remember the bar's name. (punk bands, Georgetown area?)

Website is Iron Horse and location is 507 7th Street NW, about 2 blocks south of the Chinatown Metro station.

Maybe a beer or two at the Iron Horse, then a stroll back toward Chinatown to Tony Cheng's Mongolian Restaurant on H Street--good chow .

It's rumored you can park your bike free at outlying Metro stations, ride the train into DC, have your fun, then take a return train. Haven't done that myself yet.

The Cherry Blossoms will soon be in bloom!

I'll stick with the "World Famous Iron Horse Saloon", 1068 N. US1, Ormond Beach, FL.
Better weather, tan buns & mamms, and closer to "O-ville".
(but I'm sure yours is nice too.)
